Packing Pallets

How to ensure stability and strength

Getting the pallet right helps avoid any additional costs. As charges are based on a combination of volume and weight, packing anything that takes up extra space may make your pallet non-stackable and incur additional surcharges.

Perfect pallets guide

1. Column stacking

Columns ensure maximum strength when stacking. Use a 'bricklayer style' for increased stability if the contents are rigid.

2. Do not overhang

Packages should fit squarely on the pallet, without any overlaps, although we do accept overhanging pallets, packages that fit within the pallet's footprint are less likely to get damaged.

3. Make sure it's flat

Non-stackable pallets incur additional surcharges. Make sure the top surface is level, resulting in a compact and stackable pallet.

4. Wrap it or strap it

Strapping and/or stretching wrapping is the best method to hold items in place. Wrapping should also include the pallet.

5. Clearly label your package

Pallets are stacked for transport. All labelling need to attached to the side and not the top.
